Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative (NUVELCO), in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, conducted a blood donation and first aid training on February 7, 2023.
The activity was participated by the line warriors and NUVELCO Barangay Electrician Association (NUVABEA) officers and members. General Manager Fredel Salvador lead the donation drive by first to volunteer to donate blood. This activity aimed to to raise awareness about the critical need for blood donations and equip employees of NUVELCO with life-saving first aid skills, strengthening the cooperative's emergency response capabilities.

The thanksgiving mass is in recognition of God's faithfulness to Nuvelco for all the blessings He bestowed.
Nuvelco regularly conducts a monthly thanksgiving mass and a weekly convocation per department.
This initiative is the first order of GM Fredel Salvador when he assumes office as the General Manager.
On February 6, 2023, during the Thanksgiving Mass and General Convocation, NUVELCO celebrated the appointment of General Manager Fredel Salvador as permanent general manager of the cooperative.
The National Electrification Administration (NEA) issued the permanent appointment of Salvador effective February 1, 2023 through a letter signed by the NEA Administrator. Salvador whole heartedly accepted the said appointment. In his message, GM Fredel emphasized that in 2023, his first year as the general manager of the cooperative, he will focus in improving the cooperative's FIT (Financial, Institutional, and Technical) operation. He will lead projects and programs that will ensure lowering down power rates, reduced system loss, and improve system reliability for the member-consumer-owners.
Salvador became the OIC GM of NUVELCO in February 1, 2022 after the retirement of PS/AGM Engr. Virgilio Montano. He served the cooperative for 24 years, he served as general manager's secretary, BAC, and Board Secretary until he became the first Corplan Manager.
Jowel M. Fernando took his oath as the new Institutional Manager of Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative (NUVELCO) on February 6, 2023 at the MCO Hall, Gabut, Dupax del Sur.
NUVELCO General Manager Fredel L. Salvador who administered the oath challenged Mr. Fernando to keep up and even step up their work and quality of service to the employees and the member-consumer-owners.
In his response, Fernando express his gratitude for entrusting him the position and that he will do his best for the betterment of the cooperative. Fernando served the cooperative since 1998 as part of the Technical Services Department and he served as the OIC-Corplan Manager for a year.
In a bid to assure the preparedness and technical readiness of the Nuvelco Bayombong Sub-station for commissioning this month, a joint inspection between Nuvelco and NGPC was conducted February 4, 2023.
The joint inspection is a regular activity of NGCP and Nuvelco prior to the conduct of commissioning as part of the standard operating procedure.
Nuvelco Bayombong Sub-station has a capacity of 20 MVA and is SCADA ready. This will serve the towns of Bayombong, Ambaguio and part of Solano.
The National Electrification Administration (NEA) conducted a fruitful meeting of NELECA members on February 1, 2023.
The whole-day lecture-meeting series was confined on strict observation of the revised guidelines on the implementation of strategized total electrification program, discussion on the common NEA observations during conduct of inspection and common COA observations on the implementation of SEP and BLEP Projects.
Nuvelco was joined by ISELCO I, ISELCO II, CAGELCO I, CAGELCO II, KAELCO, IFELCO and QUIRELCO.

Elmer Luna and Noel Limos emerged as victors during the recently concluded District Elections representing the towns of Bayombong/Ambaguio and Dupax del Norte/Dupax del Sur, respectively.
The election of Luna and Limos will complete the 7 Districts of NUVELCO’s jurisdiction.
"We will adhere to the mandate of NEA for the conduct of a regular district election," GM Fredel Salvador said.
The newly elected Board Director shall officially take their oath of office during the March 2023 Annual General Membership Assembly.
The district election of District VI (Dupax del Norte and Dupax del Sur) was held on January 28, 2023 while District III (Ambaguio and Bayombong) was conducted on January 29, 2023.
As part of the continuing linkages of Nuvelco with socio-civic organizations, Nuvelco represented by GM Fredel Salvador attended the regular meeting of the Philippine Red Cross this day at PRC Office, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
Among the issues discussed are fund raising activities, blood donation, first aid training and rescue operations.
Nuvelco is an active member of PRC and GM Fredel Salvador is the President of the Philippine Red Cross Aritao Branch. PRC is one of the strong linkages of NUVELCO in delivering health and medical programs through its CSR projects.
The National Electrification Administration represented by Ms. Angie Caalaman and Mr. Guilbert Carlos of the Institutional Development Department conducted an evaluation of NUVELCO’s accomplishments for the year 2022.
Part of the evaluation consists of the financial, technical and institutional aspects of the cooperative’s operation. They also visited the Governor Carlos Padilla, Mayor Tony Bagasao and SMU President John Octavious S. Palina as part of the evaluation.
The NEA Team will conduct a week-long evaluation and after which an exit conference shall be conducted on the result of their evaluation.
